PURPOSE: The Medical Assistant I functions as a member of the patient care team and works under the direction of a licensed professional. Medical Billing – Account Analyst – University HealthCare Alliance
We are currently seeking a talented Medical Billing Specialist with a genuine interest in a career in the medical billing/revenue cycle field to help us grow well into the future. The ideal candidate should be capable of and interested in working with a variety of physicians (multi-specialties). Possesses and demonstrates strong medical coding, billing, accounting, and compliance knowledge and skills. Responsible for denial management, patient billing and collections for each assigned billing account. Also responsible for customer service/client relations communications with all parties involved in the medical billing process including calls with health plan representatives.

Human Resources Generalist II
We seek an experienced HR professional to handle employee relations issues, support company and HR initiatives and administer employee health, welfare and retirement plans company-wide, including our 401(k), retirement plans, medical, dental and vision coverage, short- and long-term disability plans, workers’ compensation, leaves of absence and flexible spending plans. We’ll also rely on you to ensure plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and support the general HR functions by generating correspondence, maintaining files and performing HRIS entry.
This key assignment requires 4+ years of HR experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR management, well developed management, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, presentation and oral/written communication skills and sound judgment to identify, evaluate and recommend HR interventions to management. Familiarity with a wide range of HR concepts, practices, laws, regulations, policies and precedent is essential. Experience with EDP would be helpful and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience along with a PHR certification are preferred.

Revenue Integrity Coordinator
An exciting new opportunity exists to be part of the start-up and development of University HealthCare Alliance (UHA), a new medical foundation in Menlo Park, CA, sponsored by Stanford Hospital & Clinics (Palo Alto, CA) and organized to manage medical practices in Northern California.
Reporting to the Revenue Integrity Manager, you will be responsible for supporting all elements of clinical/revenue cycle/business information systems for purposes of planning, design, development, training and roll out to designated areas. We’ll also rely on you to assist managers, educators and users in implementing education plans regarding information systems, participate in troubleshooting business process/workflow programs and in any upgrades/modifications to the training materials, and maintain expertise in applicable programs and functions necessary for effective operations.
To qualify, you should be a customer-focused professional with a Bachelor’s degree in a work-related discipline or equivalent, 2+ years of work experience in the healthcare industry in revenue cycle/billing, demonstrated knowledge of front end, middle and back end revenue cycle processes and the ability to utilize multiple software applications, including Epic, EpicCare and Microsoft desktop tools. Working knowledge of State and Federal websites to obtain coding, billing and reimbursement information is required, along with the ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems and excellent interpersonal, presentation, organization, planning and time management skills.

Director of Finance Operations
We are currently seeking a Director of Finance Operations to take full responsibility for Finance and for Purchasing. Finance responsibilities include oversight of all accounting, reporting, auditing, budgeting, etc. as well as policy development and implementation, identification of weaknesses in internal processes/controls, and budget variance explanation. Will participate in the build/validation/implementation of a Lawson Business Intelligence system.
Purchasing responsibilities include a thorough review of current purchasing practices/policies for all UHA divisions, assessing purchasing practices of new medical groups as they are acquired, and migrating them to established processes, becoming the SME on supply chain management and leading a migration to Lawson Materials Management.
This key position requires a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or Business -- Masters degree and CPA preferred. Must have 5 years financial management experience with demonstrated knowledge/success managing accounting functions, developing budgets/financial projections, and interfacing with external auditors. Experience in healthcare, physician group practice, medical foundation or integrated healthcare delivery system preferred. Knowledge of GAAP, applicable regulatory, accrediting, licensing, compliance and contracting standards required; need to have working knowledge of medical billing, claims processing and payment processes; knowledge of the business and financial aspects of medical foundations, group practice management, or other related healthcare entities strongly preferred, as is experience on the Lawson System. Must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Involves up to 30% travel across the Bay Area service area.
