At the Menlo Medical Clinic's Department of Podiatry, we diagnose, treat and follow adult and pediatric patients who suffer from lower extremity ailments (e.g., problems with foot or ankle). These problems are often sports-related or overuse injuries, but can also include heel pain, ingrown nails, bunions and warts and gait-related issues. Dr. James Ratcliff is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
An avid sports-enthusiast himself, Dr. Ratcliff has suffered many lower etremity injuries himself which allows him to diagnosis and treat problems efficiently. He performs outpatient surgery for ailments such as bunionectomies, hammertoe corrections and neuroma (benign soft tissue tumor) removal. According to individual patient need, medical care can be coordinated with the Clinic's Orthopaedic Surgery and Physiatry Departments, thereby offering one-stop shopping for the treatment of simple to complex podiatry issues.
As a triathlete and an Ironman competitor, Dr.Ratcliff understands the excitement of participating in sports and can empathize with patients seeking fast, effective treatment for pain and injury. He specializes in sports-related orthotics which can prevent or cure foot and ankle problems for athletes including runners, cyclists, snowboarders and skiers.
Patients can typically access the Podiatry Department without a primary care physician referral by calling our main number. To optimize your visit, please come prepared to tell the podiatrist when the injury/problem first occurred, the quality of the pain and what have you done to treat it in the past.
